What Is Suppression & Self-Abandonment?
Suppression is the act of overriding our inner truth to preserve connection. When suppression becomes a pattern (in other words, when we do it again and again) it turns into self-abandonment: a state of disconnection from ourselves. We learned it early, in moments when our authentic self felt unsafe. We've carried it ever since.
